I have used polyfilm before while working with agar plates, but Microppose's polyfilm will save you from a lot of frustration. It's not thick, so it stretches and doesn't break until you're ready to break it. I used another popular brand before, but their brand made me angry enough to stop trying to seal plates. Save your sanity and use Microppose!
It serves its purpose, but its adhesion is not as effective as Parafilm.
These worked great and were super easy to use!
It's clean, in a plastic bag and a box, and I feel good about it.

I just got started doing agar dishes, but parafilm was too expensive! This film works well and at a great price on sale.
Not only suitable for sealing Petri dishes, but makes an excellent grafting tape for large grafts.

There are a lot of widths and thicknesses of polyfilm available for sealing plates but Microppose Laboratory Polyfilm has the ideal width and thickness making it the the easiest and fastest way to seal a plate.
Perfect width and easy to tear at the tension I wrap my plates at.
