Premium Liquid Culture Premix - Makes 3+ Gallons of Liquid Culture 250g (8.8oz)

Microppose Liquid Culture Premix is a dry nutrient media for mushroom liquid culture, custom blended by Myco Labs USA. Weigh it, dissolve it in hot water, and sterilize. One 250 g pouch makes more than 3 US gallons of broth.

This is the dry version of the recipe Myco Labs has refined over 15 years of producing liquid cultures. Extra light malt extract and dextrose supply the sugars, soy peptone supplies the nitrogen that honey and sugar-only recipes leave out, and a proprietary nutrient and mineral blend rounds it out.

Mixing Rate

Measure by weight on a gram scale so every batch comes out the same.

• 1 US pint of water: 9.7 g
• 1 US quart of water: 19.4 g
• 1 liter of water: 20.5 g
• 1 US gallon of water: 77.5 g

Directions

1. Weigh out the premix for your batch size.
2. Stir into hot or boiling water until fully dissolved. For a cleaner broth, pour it through a paper coffee filter to remove malt sediment.
3. Let the broth cool, then fill your jars, leaving headspace.
4. Pressure cook for 30 minutes at 15 PSI. Running much longer can darken the sugars.
5. Once the jars are back to room temperature, inoculate with 3 to 5 cc of spore solution or liquid culture, or a clean agar wedge.
6. Incubate at 76 to 82°F out of direct light and swirl regularly.

Storage: Keep the pouch tightly sealed in a cool, dry place and measure with a clean, dry utensil.
