I used pp5 plates to save the plastic waste from hitting landfills and oceans. The problem is clarity of the plastic. It's hard to see the mycelium in most of them. Not with these plates. These are thinner but seem just as sturdy as the others I was using. These are still slightly cloudy but I can see things way easier in these. I can tell if there is a contaminate hitching a ride or if it's just mycelium. I wish these came with threaded lids so I could ditch the Parafilm, but I'll take what I can get. Over all they seem sterile and easy to work with. I have yet to autoclave/PC them so I don't know about disability yet. I keep getting harassed to give a review instead of letting me do it when I know more about the product so here it is, now leave me alone!
Excellent service! Very attentive and friendly. The dishes are very good. I wish they were more translucent and that they also had a label with basic information on the packaging. I would still buy again. Thank you!
i only wish that they had better adhesion to grafting tape which i use instead of parafilm. They also seem to be a bit flexible which also makes them harder to wrap. outside that im looking forward to reusing them
Great products. Great company. I just bought 2 more packs of the autoclavable dishes. I've already been using the first set for a year with zero issues. Highly recommend! Reduce consumables and waste!!!!! 🍄✌️
So far loving the version 2 plates. Little clearer and thicker than the version 1. Most importantly just as useful and effective without throwing more plastic away. Get some! You won’t be disappointed, been using them for a couple yrs now.
My only complaint would be clarity. Maybe I'm ignorant as to the feasibility of the materials used pertaining to the clarity and being reusable. I'll probably go glass or Pyrex next time. It was my attempt at cost reduction. Purely a case of my lack of experience and not doing a thorough product education.
I have yet to confirm how they do with agar but they survived my Pressure cooker during a test run by placing them on a platform above the water. They seem like a good size.
I'm a little concerned with risk of contamination due to the lids not closing tightly on the bottoms. But we'll see if that's an issue or not!
